2007 was a special year for us. On the 27th of April 2007, our journey into the event management industry begun. WaridiKenya initially Harusizetu, was launched. Before we started with corporate event management, our initial aim and aspiration at the start was to create an online platform which would facilitate Kenyan brides and grooms to easily access vendors and service providers. The idea was impeccable and just like a flower blossoms the goal was to groom and nurture the idea to make it big. However, like many other business ventures the start was not what we envisioned. This led us back to the drawing board and we chalked up a new plan on how to execute our ideas better.
Faith, hard work and determination kept us going. ‘And if you have faith as small as a mustard seed nothing will be impossible’ Matthew 17;20. Our team worked consistently throughout, in order to achieve a fundamental goal towards the venture. Amidst the brainstorming sessions a new solution came to light and this was event management. Officially, WaridiKenya found its base in the business world. As we all know event management and planning is vast and based on this our first approach was to specialize on wedding events. One by one we started getting clients through our website, and also through referrals of our previous happy clients. It is through sheer dedication and constant drive to offer the best services that we started getting recognition. ‘Boom’ One client, Two…Three.., Four client and just like that WaridiKenya was suddenly a household name. To sum up the amazing progress, Google came knocking and this definitely sealed a deal for us.
2012, another milestone for us. We decided to pivot towards B2B clientele and solely focus on corporate event management. There was a huge mismatch in demand-supply for corporate event management and it was the perfect opportunity for us to seize the moment. Majority of the businesses do not have an in-house team to cater to their event planning and corporate event management needs. We decided to bridge the gap and provide customised solutions matching their requirements. As a business it is imperative to create and maintain consistent and positive brand image focused on target audience and we started doing that one event at a time.
Our vision is to translate brands events into delightful experiences with valuable takeaways. We focus on creating experiences that connect customers to the core brand value. Loving what we do and innovating to create new experiences at every single event has helped us carve a niche for ourselves in the industry. This in return garnered us some of the biggest brands such as Google, Microsoft, Intel, Coca-Cola and Kenol Kobil just to name a few.
As we celebrate 10 years in the game, the dream is still alive and so is the burning desire to get better. We aim to establish ourselves as the go to brand when it comes to corporate event management and planning. It’s time to work harder, and move faster to shape the future of events in Kenya.
