Microsoft held an African Business Forum titled the Nextech ‘17 Building for Africa. The event, which took place at the Radisson Blu hotel saw IT Pros Developers, CIOs/ CTOs in large enterprise, education, government and startups and partners, as well as students, attend. The event theme was centred around a digital city powered by Microsoft technologies.
The forum was characterized by a Listen Zone, a Connect Zone and the Enable Zone which were interactive and exciting spaces for attendees. It was here also that guests were able to see new technologies by Microsoft such as those by Microsoft Hololens, a mixed reality experience. The guests also got to learn about Microsoft-4 Afrika a Microsoft initiative which is meant to develop affordable access, skills and innovation on the African continent.
A unique feature of the NexTech ’17 was the Women in Tech lunch, an exclusive lunch held for women techies. The lunch also doubled up a platform for key discussions that revolved around coding.
The two-day event featured guests from all over Africa who networked and had collaborative discussions on the future of tech in Africa. Waridi Events was pleased to be the events agency, that worked with the Microsoft team to ensure a successful inaugural event.
