The event also brought together influencers for a public presentation to learn more about National Geographic Society’s work and the work of their explorers. The event was held on the 17th of November, 2016 at Villa Rosa Kempinski Hotel.
The first half of the event was the Explorer Meet-up which was scheduled to kick off from 10:30am and went on until 5:00pm. The sessions were informal and relatively free flowing, giving the Explorers a relaxed platform to share and network. This session flowed into a ‘Happy Hour’ where the Explorers were joined by other guests. The happy hour preceded we the next event which was dubbed “An evening of Exploration”.
The “An Evening of Exploration” event, was a sit-down summit and panellist session where different personalities shared their work and engaged the audience on current conservation issues. John Sibi-Okumu broadcast journalist was the event host for the 2 hour program.
