2017 marked the 16th edition of the FiRe Awards, whose theme was “Inspiring Confidence through Excellence in Financial Reporting and Corporate Governance in East Africa’’. The event is intended to strengthen financial markets and attract investment, business entities would have to make disclosure of their activities to enable a wide range of stakeholders to use such information in making economic decisions. Participants benefit from an evaluation feedback which helps them to improve their reporting.
The event was held on the 16th and 17th of October, 2016. Waridi Events was tasked with handling the end to end event management plus ticketing.
The conference was held at Crowne Plaza Hotel, 10th floor on the 16th of November, 2017. The main setup was simple and minimalistic with banqueting seats, in classroom seating all facing a raised panel, with 2 projector screens, and a magnetic backdrop banner. Waridi ushers were on hand to register and check in guests as well as give any additional assistance.
The dinner was held on the 17th November 2017 at Carnivore grounds, from 6:00 pm - 11:30 pm. This year’s design theme was ‘A touch of Africa’ and was brought out in the events look and feel.
Mark Masai and Mc Jesse kept the night light and entertaining, with the Limericks Band and Dj JP adding much-needed entertainment breaks between segments. The night ended with the awards and a wash of sparkles, music and laughter.
