Ferring Pharmaceuticals hosted guests from West Africa and Jordan for the 2018 Cycle Meeting. The meeting objective was to go over the previous year’s achievements and note ways to improve for 2018. Representatives from 6 countries were present. It was also an opportunity for those who had excelled within their companies to be recognized and for all present to network, not to mention kickstart the year on a high note. This is the first time this event has been hosted in Kenya and in Sub-Saharan Africa, with this year’s theme being “Accelerating Growth”.
The event was held from the 4th of February, with guests arriving in Nairobi and then being treated to a dinner at the Carnivore Restaurant. Guests then got a first-hand experience of the Standard Gauge Railway as they travelled from Nairobi to Mombasa on the 5th of February, getting glimpses of elephants and other wild animals along the way.
Guests were then received by experienced dancers wearing the Kenyan colours, Waridi crew and friendly hotel staff at PrideInn Paradise Beach Resort, Convention Centre and Spa for check-in.
After the main meeting opening that saw all guests meet in the same room, the group broke away into two groups for the remainder of the sessions.
It wasn’t all work and no play at the meeting, guests were treated to themed dinners on Tuesday and Friday with good food, great music and a well-stocked bar. The first dinner was an all White Dinner; location for this was on the at the Tamarind Dhow.
The second dinner was an African Themed Gala Dinner where guests got to show off fashion from their respective African “couture”, and share their different kinds of music. The setup featured ankara lanterns, rectangular tables dressed in white with ankara runners and themed centrepieces.
On the last day guests were taken through a fun team building exercise.
It was a pleasure being a part of Ferring Kenya’s first SSA Cycle Meeting.
